Remove the battery off the laptop then connect just the AC adapter and see if it will stay on. - While the laptop is on put the battery back in and see if it will charge normally. - Do also try doing a battery calibration that may also help.
Thenew battery charged for 30 min then stopped charging with exactly the same message - Plugged in Not charging. Since then I have tried any and all recommendations I could find online. I purchased a new charger, updated (flashed) the BIOS, reinstalled the battery drivers, reinstalled Windows and installed a new charging port plug.
Irecommend you reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under the device manager. Here is how you do it. Step 1: Click the Windows "Start" button and right-click "Computer.". Step 2: Click "Manage," then "Device Manager.". Step 3: Click the "Batteries" section. A list of devices will appear.
Clickthe battery icon in the system tray and you should see that your laptop is plugged in and charging. Screenshot by Matt Elliott/CNET By reinstalling my Lenovo laptop's battery
